Conscious Relaxation: Theory & Practice
Yoga Nidra is a nine-step technique of working with the body, breath and mind to bring about a relaxed state of awareness. The practice is based on a centuries old technique that was modernized in 1941 by Satyananda Saraswati from the Bihar School of Yoga in India. The practice works by gradually turning your attention from external distractions like noise, to awareness of your internal landscape where you give yourself instructions for desired changes that you want to incorporate into your life. This program will provide a basic understanding of the history, theory and benefits of Yoga Nidra, a structured step-by-step technique for conscious relaxation, as well as its application to therapeutic yoga, yoga therapy and stress management.

Half Day Workshop / Course
Participants will experience one short Yoga Nidra. At the end of the workshop you will understand how Yoga Nidra can be used in stress management programs.

Participants will experience one short and one full Yoga Nidra. At the end of the workshop you will be able to design and sequence a basic Yoga Nidra practice for yourself and for your clients and students.
